Rockport & Motif #1 (2025)

22 June 2025

This was our second trip (together) to Rockport, a beautiful little seaside artist community. We have three pictures of our first time in our blog-post, Rockport & Motif #1 (2014)

Coley is the only person in the original picture; this is a collage with another she took of me.

We tried to get up here the night before while we were settling down from our Battle of Bunker Hill adventure, but that time being a Saturday night in the summer there was, of course, absolutely, positively no where to park (legally). I know I’m getting more conservative and I parked wherever I wanted-to in the past, but as I get older I feel the process of ticketing and desire of the municipality to do so has definitely increased over the years as well.

Anyway, we are early-risers, so we went down and got the closest parking sport in town and actually had to wait about two minutes before we were even allowed to purchase parking on the street. A short walk around the corner brought us to where had our breakfast sandwiches and coffees, the Bean & Leaf Café. The view out the window of a little sheltered cove was awesome.

We took some pictures at the end of the wharf and then a few more of Motif #1 before heading out.

We didn’t take any video of our time there but CNN has a short clip, some of it is obviously “fake news” but for the most part, it represents the town well.

I have stayed away from Facebook for the past several years, but Coley still has a presence there. If you want to see a few pictures or interact with her post, and have permission to do so, they are contained within her photo album: I ♥ Boston Massachusetts.
